I wrote a new FAQ article "Does DPI Matter?" It gives you a description of how DPI, or Dots Per Inch, relates to the size of the file and what you should be looking for. If you ask your printer what size files they need for your job and they say "300 DPI" then ask them "What is the long side pixel dimension you require." If they can't answer that, then you might want to look for another printer. If you need a new print house, please let us know, we would be glad to refer you to one of our recommended vendors.
